Where's my geared bike?

My geared mtn. bike is still in the shop waiting for some new parts, which is where it has been for the past two months. I sort of miss it, especially on days when I do lots of climbing. Today could have been one of those days. Joe called me last night and suggested we do a modified Wasatch Crest ride. Park at Mill D, ride up the road to Solitude, ride most of the Solitude race course, cross the canyon road and head up some relatively unknown trail to the base of puke hill. Wow, was that a lot of climbing! I was so jealous of Joe and Jay as they gracefully glided up the hills, pushing a nice easy gear. Though, I have to admit, there is something satisfying about single speeding. The simplicity and quietness of the ride really appeal to me. One day I hope to be riding on a new pony like Scottypants! I need to get in line though, Sabrosa's are in hot demand! Overall, the ride was just about 18 miles with 3200 feet of climbing!

Mike- Hey good job on the clims the other day. My brother and I both commented how amazing it was that you can turn that big gear so slow, going the same pace as us in our grannies...Fun ride for sure, hopefully you get your geared bike back before the snow falls:)
