From day one, Alexis has been a baby that spits up often. No, a lot. No, frequently. No, ALL. THE. TIME. My dad even nicknamed her Bounty (because he feels like he needs a paper towel anytime he picks her up).
And, while I sometimes wonder if her body will ever really figure out how to keep the food in, or if she'll be this toddler running around with mom right behind still wiping up all of the spit up (which, by then, I'm sure you'd have to start referring to it as throw up, gross), I have to say, it hasn't really bothered me that much.
Until recently.
Now that she's a full fledged baby-food-eating machine, her spit up is no longer just a quick wipe of mom's milk. Now, it's usually some random color combination of her latest meal. And, because of this, I now spend WAY too much time trying to get out those stains (anything that takes longer than a quick squirt, soak and rinse is too much time in my book). Squirt, soak, rinse, squirt, soak, rinse, over and over and I still can't get these blasted stains out of her clothes! It's made me so frustrated that I have this pink onesie-turned-orange-down-the-entire-front (thank you carrots) that I've considered throwing it away. No donation, no save the environment and try to reuse it some how, but throw it away.
Until now.
I've been so bothered about this ridiculous amount of time I've been spending, I mentioned it to my neighbor, Rachel. And, voila! She told me to try a squirt (or a capful) of lemon juice on the stain and to let it soak in the sun. She said, while she didn't know to trust it on anything, she did know it'd work on color or white clothing.
So, I took my cute pink onesie-turned-orange-down-the-entire-front stain for a lemon juice soak and sunshine and poof! Pink onesie is cute and pink again! No bleach marks, no stain!
Next step, a bulk purchase of lemon juice.
Any other good stain removing tricks you know about?

Ooh, great tip! Unfortunately I can't think of any tips off the top of my head. But if I think of one I'll be back!
I totally know how you feel, Callin would spit up all the time, he wore a bib 24/7, until just recently he just stopped.
I guess I don't have your email. Um I didn't know they had a pickup in Daybreak. I go to Draper. Is the the The Community Food Coop of Utah? That is great they have one close by.
That's a good tip as we are entering the solid food stage too.
I use Spray & Wash, oxyclean, and Tide for my laundry stains. It gets most things out, as long as I catch them. A few shirts of Salem's have passed me and I dried them with the stain. I'll have to try the lemon juice.
Hydrogen peroxide works well for blood stains but Oxyclean does too. It's the hydrogen peroxide in the oxyclean that does it I'm sure.
I just read in a magazine that you should spray your spray & wash from the underside of the stain. It help pull the stain out rather than setting it in if you spray from the top.
What is your email address? Email it to me, dianiadickerson@gmail.com
Zout is the best stain remover I have found so far- not only does it remove nasty baby food stains (yes- it removes pureed carrots!) and it gets rid of all spots- it even gets out crustified spit-up formula which stains like nobody's business so I highly recommend it. I use it all the time and never worried about ruined clothes.
