The Big 5

Maxman has managed to turn the big 5. Filling an entire hand. Headed to kindergarten this fall. A sweet guy who definitely loves to laugh, make people laugh, and is probably the most creative and imaginative little man I've met. Whew. I can't believe how fast time flies.

It was fun for him to open the gifts and cards sent by family members. We feel so grateful for the love and support from a far!
My scuba diver had asked for a snorkel mask and flippers for over a month. It was the last present he opened that day, and he couldn't wait to put them on. Not only is it funny to see him wear them around the house, but it is H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S. to watch him at the pool (in the tot 1.5 foot pool) with full gear on, snorkeling. I won't let him in the big pool with the full gear yet. I'm sure he'll win me over at some point, but he has enough to think about when he's over there - swimming!
Kids can ride free at the Nickelodeon Universe (the amusement park in the Mall of America) on the birthday. Max was much more timid than he's ever been with the rides, and really wanted to stick with the safer/smaller rides. Papa was a good sport and went on the little rides with him, until the Dora Bus made him a bit green and then Max was on his own (I couldn't have lasted that long, so he did great!)! Log ride was still a favorite.

Alexis, still too little for the rides, played in a train and watched from the sidelines like a champ. Next time, I think the girls will go shopping while the boys ride the rides!
Papa and Nana let Max pick out one thing from the Lego Land store. Max L.O.V.E.S. Legos and was really excited for this. He knew exactly what he wanted, and even convinced Papa to stay up way too late building it that night with him.

Happy Birthday, Max! I can't believe he's 5! Looks like you guys had a ton of fun with Mike's parents. And Brainerd? Um, can I go there? Beautiful!
