Is Alexis a giant?

I took Alexis to her 4 month check up only to leave with a very concerned Max. After seeing Alexis get measured, and then hearing about her growth, he was worried that she was growing like a giant.

Max's love/hate fixation with giants has been around for awhile. Over Christmas, he was scared to death of the Cartoon Classic Rudolph because of the abominable snowman. Yet, he loves the movie Monsters Inc. (snowman and all). Other times, he'll see something about a giant and can't take his eyes off it (i.e. the book we have about David and Goliath), so it's just odd. Maybe it's just the size of people - before that he was fascinated with the little Oompa Loompas.

Most recently, my mom, sister and I took Max to the movie Monsters vs. Aliens. He lasted about 10 minutes, up to the part where Susie grows into a giant. The life size, quick growth had him jumping across Kristen and into my lap. After using every tactic to try to get him back into the movie to see what happens next, he simply said, "you go. I'll stay here. That movie is too scary." He then pointed to a poster on the wall, and said he wanted to go to that one (insert photo of Wolverine's claws in the new X-Men movie). Yeah, right, that would be so much less scary.

Back to the dr. appt. It's taken some time and lots of conversations, but I think we finally have him convinced that Alexis is not a giant. And, moms and dads won't get any taller, and kids are growing, but it's slow. He even has a cool height measure thing in our laundry room (okay, it's basically a giant ruler on the wall) that he checks every day to see how much he's growing. And, I think he'll really like the vegetable garden this year - watching how things grow.

What a funny guy.

p.s. little miss alexis weighed in at 13 lbs and 24". 70% in height, about 50% in weight.
