I know. It's November, and while everyone is putting up halloween pics, I'm posting about summer. Mike mentioned it in his last post, but as we seem to keep getting busier, it's becoming trickier to shave off time to blog. And, it just seemed funny to simply skip over all of these "firsts" for the kiddos.
Some August highlights:
Heber Rodeo. We went with Mike's parents, his sister and bro-in-law and cousin Ava. We all had a blast. (I thought this photo was funny of Max yelling and cheering as much as he could.)

Our trip to Kennecott Copper, or as Max calls it, "the big mine." He LOVED this and has tried on numerous occasions to try to get me to drive up there again. Max has always been fascinated with large machinery. On the way home, Mike asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and Max couldn't decide between a construction worker or working in the mine (either way, he'd get to drive a big truck!).

The first day of preschool! He was so excited to finally be old enough for preschool (and it's been a blast seeing how much he enjoys it!) On the way to his first day, I told him that he was big enough to go to preschool, and he was really curious to see what else he might be big enough for. His questions included: "Am I big enough to start riding in the front seat of the car? Am I big enough to cross the street by myself? Am I big enough to ride the bus by myself? Am I big enough to go to the park by myself?" Not quite buddy, and he seemed to be satisfied that preschool was enough for now.

It seems like any time Alexis was reaching for something, she'd be in this position. Future yoga instructor? Possibly. Future dancer? Maybe. But, if nothing else, it makes me laugh. I've found her not only in the middle splits, but doing right or left splits as well if she's trying to get something to the side of her. Mike says she's already flexible because I taught yoga all through my pregnancy. Who knows, but it was the reason for her halloween costume (you'll see that when I get to October)!

And, she started to army crawl! She was pretty excited to be moving on her own!

I can't believe how big Alexis is! What a cutie. And Max - preschool?! Wow!
I'm about to do the same thing to my blog. I haven't really done anything all summer.
Too bad I don't still work at Komatsu - I could let Max ride on all the big machinery. I went to Kennecott while I worked that and got pics with one of those huge mining trucks - it was the size of a house...Amazing!
The flexible pic of Alexis kills me!! Too cute - definitely a future dancer!
