Hat Adventure

Alexis received this hat from my dad. She LOVES it. I think she'd wear it all day long if I let her. A few times she's even pointed to it as we're headed out the door as if to say, "mom! don't forget my hat!" I think she looks stinkin cute.

Oddly, someone else thought it was a pretty cool hat too. We took the kiddos to Cabela's on Saturday for entertainment. Max loves seeing all of the animals - his favorite is the polar bear (nicknamed Giant Guy after the abominable snowman in the original Rudolph). Alexis enjoyed the tour up on Mike's shoulders, with hat on, of course.

Our last stop before heading out was the aquarium. And, as we were checking out the fish, a fish decided to stop and check out Alexis. As we stared into the tank, a fish stopped, moved to eye level with Alexis and held it's position to stare at her hat! We couldn't believe it! We watched the eye of the fish move up, down and around in the exact area of her hat.

How long did the excitement last? A good minute. Then, he moved on his way. Did he have flashbacks of his younger days? Did the eskimo hat remind him of an old friend?
I guess we'll never know. But, it was pretty fun to watch.

That hat is fantastic! How funny the fish liked it to. On another note - I'm just now catching up on your blog -- the FLU and PNEUMONIA?!!!? So sorry you were sick for most of the holidays! What a bummer. Glad to hear you're healthy again!
