Duluth

Once we knew Omaha was a for sure thing, I told Mike I had a few things on my Minnesota Bucket List.  At the top, was a trip to Duluth.  I'd been itching to get up there and check it out, and we knew we'd need some extra hands to help, so we timed it when Mike's parents came up for to see Tayler for the first time in April.  It worked out great.  Only wish we could have stayed up there longer!

The hotel was right on Lake Superior, and it sounded just like the ocean.  Loved listening to the waves.  Walked around downtown, checked out a fun ship museum, saw the lighthouse, had dinner and took the kids swimming.

Woke up the next morning and saw a few big cargo ships come into port (Max's favorite).  Then we drove up the coast to the Split Rock Lighthouse.  Loved learning about the history of the area and checking out the cool Lighthouse.  It was a bit overcast and felt so mystical.

Tayler's did well.  Still young enough that she slept a LOT, and gladly the walls were pretty dang thick at the hotel so her nighttime crying/fussiness time wasn't bothersome to everyone around us!

from Lorena - looks like fun!
Oh, I meant to comment on your newspaper article before. I loved it! Before Ella came along I used to always workout at the park while Michael played. To bad we don't live in the same neighborhood - I've yet to come across anyone else doing the same in the parks I go to.
And I love all your mantras.
Looking forward to seeing you guys this summer!

Lorena: I have a feeling we'd hang out a lot if we lived relatively close to one another. But, for now, Mike is as likely to work in Tel Aviv as Rov is as likely to work in Omaha. Ain't gonna happen. So, for now, I look forward to seeing you in Utah. And maybe we just need to plan an actual vacation together down the road...
