Thrilled with the candy poster. I threw it together at the last minute and he was so excited to read it. Going to make this one a tradition.
Kept the celebrations with the family this year, so we let him pick one place to eat, and one thing to go do. We went to his favorite restaurant for rice and beans!
Came home and did a treasure hunt for his gifts. Think we'll make that a tradition too!
And, keeping with the ninja theme, I made him a cake. It was a fast version of this good looking one I found on pinterest.
And, the thing that Max picked to go do was cosmic bowling. This was the first time we'd taken them bowling. My neighbor offered to take Tayler while we took Max and Alexis - she was so awesome and willing, knowing exactly what a high maintenance baby is like (she had one as well, and could really relate every time I'd mention the endless crying and need to be held!). That was huge - at that age, Tayler would have really struggled with all of the noise and lighting.
Since it was their first time, the bowling alley suggested we use the ramp for the kiddos. Max tried it a couple times, but then was happy to just chuck it down the lane. Hilarious!
Both of them L.O.V.E.D. it. I had flashbacks of my high school weekends heading to bowling alley and in college going with Mike. Though in my mind, I swear I bowled better. I was terrible. Alexis loved the concept of bowling shoes and has some shoes at home she'll wear around to "go bowling."
Fun memories. Fun break from all of the chaos we had going on. Big thanks to everyone that remembered Max on his bday. He really appreciated it!
