Buddies

Spring break happened way too early to actually feel like spring (I think it was the second week in March or something).  And, Mike was still on crutches, so it didn't really make sense for him to take time off to go anywhere, so we made the most of it at home.

Turns out we had a blast doing all the fun stuff around town.  Max loved relaxing a bit and spending some time at home too.

His last day was a completely random, super warm day.  Still too wet to head to a park, but nice enough to at least soak up some Vitamin D.  Perfect enough to tackle cleaning out my car from the winter mess.  I probably vacuumed out an entire bucket of sand and rocks.  And every time I clean my car I silently promise that I won't allow snacks of any kind back in. But at some point, for some reason, they always end up sneaking in, and I pay for it every time I'm cleaning up tiny crumbs.

Since the weather was fantastic, my two oldest helped out.  I write helped quite loosely.  Yes, Max did pitch in and vacuum up the tough to reach back seat for me.  And, they rocked at wiping the windows.  But the real excitement was that they each got their own soda.

As I'm tackling the project at hand, these two were just cracking up.  Max was the funny guy, cracking endless jokes about how Alexis thought she needed an umbrella outside.  She couldn't laugh harder.   Rarely do I catch these moments on a still camera, and was so happy to snap a few pics of them as their true selves.

Yes, they have knock out moments where they are at each others throats.  Alexis can scream like the best of girls, and Max knows exactly what buttons to push.  But, man they really are friends at the end of the day.

Alexis adored the week they were able to spend together.  Mike and I found her like this one night - completely asleep on the floor.  She'd been sneaking into his room to stay up late the few nights previously, and obviously didn't make it that far on this last night.
