March Madness!

Basketball was the root of our courtship. Literally. It's how the hubs and I first met. I was the secretary for the late Rick Majerus (the Head Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Utah) and my hubs was on the team. But that's a story for another day.
While life happened and we've created a whole bunch of branches (and gosh, trees) since those days, one tradition we absolutely love is March Madness. I consider it a March holiday.
We keep it simple - the Monday before the games begin everyone in the family fills out their bracket (my girls are most excited to use colored pens). We hang them on our pantry door and circle the wins and cross out the losses. Each win earns one point in the first round, two points in the second round, and upwards from there. The person with the most total points gets to choose our family adventure Saturday activity. The winner must choose something the whole family can participate in. Past years have ranged from a dinner out, to bowling or a family bike ride.
And while I have a whole crew of gals who don't care too much about the actual games, or who wins, they LOVE the competition, the points, and the anticipation for the fun activity. I love how it's a win:win tradition for everyone!
Go Utah! (sorry, I just couldn't resist).
