The hope here is to begin a monthly recap of the little things - to catch those little moments mixed between the messy floors, spilled cups, and just trying to keep track of what's happening next!
After our Disney World trip, Abigail made her very own spaceship (inspired by the Buzz Lightyear ride). This box was just the right size for her to tuck inside and Mike gave her little spaceship rides all over the house. She colored buttons to push and all kinds of sound effects. Love her imagination. Currently, she sleeps with it every night. Who needs a stuffed animal anyway?
Tayler snapped this one Saturday morning - I'm all sweaty from just wrapping up a workout, but there's Alexis in a spot she loves - cooking in the kitchen! So grateful she snuck my phone and took this!
Golf. We love it.
Speaking of boxes, Alexis asked if she could have a box I was about to toss. I was in the middle of dinner/helping with homework and said "sure." She came down later with this darling creation! Again, the imagination is so inspiring!
We eat outside as much as possible. These two have their moments for sure, which is why I took a moment to capture how much fun they were having together.
And, we do homework outside a ton too!
One of our dear neighbors in Utah sent me a picture of the daffodils and tulips popping up in our old home. It's funny how you can miss something like bulbs, but it brought back all these fun memories of planting those bulbs with the kiddos. And, gratefully, we were able to enjoy them for a season before we left! But, bulbs aren't really a thing here, so it felt like a tender gift to walk into Trader Joe's and see these darling plants! They smelled so good!!
See that hole? This girl had a wiggly tooth that was so loose one night at the pool that I knew it was either pull it out, or it'll be lost in the water. She was hesitant at first, but it came out so fast she didn't even know it had happened! Love that toothless smile!
Every morning, this gal makes her own chocolate milk. It's the only reason we still have a cup with a lid around because she likes to shake it herself. It's one of those things that when she stubbornly wants to do it herself ages ago, I felt resistant, but let her, and now it's one of those routines I love to watch her do. It brings her so much joy to make her own chocolate milk!
I'd love to say that we planned this picture, but if I had tried to get them together like this, it never would have happened. So grateful to have this darling photo captured of the three of them together!
There were some fun service opportunities and projects at our church this month - this was the only photo I took from them all, but it was fun!
No, I wasn't driving when I took this, but last week while Abigail and I were driving home, she said "mom! Check this out! Look out the window!" Sure enough, I saw this little shoeless foot sticking out. I smiled and then panicked momentarily, as I thought she probably had thrown them out the window at some point. Gratefully, that idea had not come to mind (at least not yet), and we still came home with two shoes.
The little girls are always pulling out my heels and walking around in them.
She loves chalk. We love her.
Not captured are the smell of these flowers we get to ride our bikes under every time we head to/from school. Also not shown is the basilisk lizard we saw just up on the sidewalk. Popped up on his hind legs to run, and it was the funniest thing to watch. Now if we could just catch seeing one do that on water...
And while I have absolutely zero pics of this, Max is playing basketball! After his season ended with the middle school team, he has been practicing in a basketball club at the school most mornings, and loves the experience of playing with older kids. He's also playing on a team right around here and loves that experience as well. And he heads out every day after school and sets up cones for ball handling drills and all kinds of shooting drills. So fun to watch. I always get a round of P-I-G or T-I-G-E-R or whatever length of animal we choose at the time, and I never, ever win. Which is absolutely okay!
