Well...much to the chagrin of my lovely bride, another steed has found its way to my stable. Yes, I have another addition to my bike harem. Scott basically talked me into it. I've always heard him say at times like this, "You can have as many bikes as you can love and care for." What timeless advice. However, I am starting to feel like some kind of bike polygamist. (except I collect bikes, not wives) "Well, honey, I've decided it's time to add another ride to the family". She then says, "What's the matter, aren't the ones you already have good enough for you". A tear starts to well up in the corner of her eye. She knows that things won't be the same once the new one comes. It's all reminiscent of some episode of "Big Love". Like a good wife, she has requested I sell the Pista. Not because I have too many bikes, but because we are out of room!
Anyway. I needed a B bike for cross this year. I called Mark at Saturday Cycles, where I bought my Pista last year, and asked him if he had anything of interest. He just happened to have a Bianchi San Jose in my size. He said if I could bring cash money he'd work a deal. I couldn't pass it up. The white panels, the pastel blue frame, it's a beaut. It's a beast though. It has to weigh more than my 29er. Oh well! The 42 x 17 gearing is a little tall, so I don't know how much action it'll see. But it'll definitely look good in the pits!
KP is going to make some heads roll tomorrow at RMR. Be afraid! Be very afraid!!!!!!

Great looking new ride. see you in the morning
Wow, she's beautiful!
I was thinking of a similar analogy when I bought my new Madonne this year, and I think my love affair analogy with my bikes made DNR a little jealous.
You are even more of a bike geek than I realized. Cool! So when you got tested, did you get your VO2 max also? Although I know asking what it actually is is probably something like asking a girl how much she weighs.
Lorena, I just had the max watts test done. I heard that VO2 max test is good as well. We are excited to come see you guys in a short two months!
I think your family now has more bikes then mine. Great. Lorena will probably view this as a challenge.
I would at least give it a B+. I have a large soft spot in my guts for anything that says nachi on it.
I'm a little disappointed that you can't find enough love in your heart to keep both Bianchi's! (You really could compare the two single speeds to fraternal twins: I guess Max should feel relieved that he wasn't born a twin: Who knows if he would have made the cut to stay a part of the family!!) Just kidding!! I'm fully confident that you will be able to give the new addition to the family the love and attention it deserves. As for the one you're shamelessly kicking to the curb, I'll help you put it up for adoption on (eBay)! The guilt will pass over time. . . I promise!
