On Saturday, the CX series brought us to the Wasatch County Fairgrounds once again. When I rolled into Heber, the temp was 23 bone-chilling degrees! Despite two warm-up laps, I was completely frozen before the race started. KP would have been in heaven! The course was a little different from the course in October. It was a little more technical and the mud ruts from last race were still there, which made it a little tough to pick a good line. Scott and KP missed the race because they were sick. About race time I started feeling a little sick as well and by the end of lap one, I knew something wasn't right. During the second lap, a couple of guys put a little bit of a gap into me, but by the third lap I had pulled myself back. We rode together all the way to the last lap when Troy Nye from Bikeman.com picked a killer line in the mud rut section and passed both me and the third place guy. I gave it all I could, but I couldn't catch him. I ended up finishing second, but considering the circumstances, I am stoked! Darren Cottle was there with his son, Tanner, who actually placed 4th in Men's C. That's crazy! Darren ended up finishing 1st in the 35+ As later on in the day. Great job! Kerry's son Brad had a podium finish once again! That new Cross Check must be the trick! Next week is the State Championships at Wheeler. Hopefully I"ll feel 100% by then.

nice work on the second place finish. I really need to get up there for at least one race. I am afraid that you would work me silly.
According to Lorena, unless you are trying to be State Champ, you need to upgrade, since you are dominating the C class...
Sabrosa, it would be a lot of fun to have you join us at an upcoming race. Check out the schedule and see if it can work. I need to make it down to San Jorge. I still have never graced the trails of the Gooseberry yet!
Lorena, let a guy enjoy a couple podium finishes! They don't come around that often! Though, I am planning on racing in the Singlespeed class in one of the upcoming races.
