Oompa Loompa

Anyone that's been around Max knows he's fascinated (well, probably more fixated) on the 1970's Oompa Loompa's from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. What started in May as a short five minute clip on TV of seeing them dance, turned into a summer-long LOVE for the Oompas, thanks to youtube, and eventually the DVD. Mike and I are lucky enough to know ALL the words to the Oompa songs (which, by the way, really are a bit odd).

My mom knows how to sew (a trade I have yet to learn) and offered to make him his costume for halloween. Max was thrilled to be in this costume, wants green hair every day, and even pulled out his best Oompa dance and poses on halloween. Below are a few pics. And thanks mom, again, for making the cutest costume in town!!

My mom and sister with Max at Boo at the Zoo (yes, we went last weekend with the bazillions of other people)...Thanks mom and KJ for going!

Dad (or Slash) singing the Oompa song on our porch.

My happy little Oompa.
Max and his cousin, Ava (who was a bee at one point of the evening), at their grandparents. Max managed to teach Ava the Oompa Loompa dance before the night was through.

I have never seen an oompa loompa costume - how creative and cute! He looks like he loved it too. Great hair!

He looked so cute, and he knew it! I'm happy that Ava and Max had a good time on Halloween. They were so funny laughing and dancing with grandpa.

The Oompa costume is fantastic. Makes me laugh to think of little Max and his fixation. What fun to be one for Halloween! He looked great.
