Anyone who knows me can attest that I have seriously lacked any cycling motivation this summer. Work has proven to be much more busy that I thought it would be, which isn't a bad thing I guess. But couple that with family and church responsibilities and riding ends up being the first thing scratched off the priority list. During the spring time, most of my riding came in the form of commuting to and from work. That was all fine and dandy until someone at work found out and decided to put an end to that. Whatever. Gotta love those people who just can't seem to understand why someone would want to ride their bike into work when they have a perfectly working automobile! Hmm, let me see...It's exercise. It's a natural stimulant (I don't need coffee, though those that do need coffee have an endless supply in the break room, supplied by the company. Whatever.) It's environmentally friendly (I'll admit, I don't think about this all to often when I'm out riding, but it sounds good.) It would be nice to someday work for a company that understands cycling and the benefits that come from it. Until then, I'll just keep selling boxes.
So, with that said, I have REALLY been looking forward to our annual family "week in Park City" vacation. We've actually been chilling up here in the cool mountain air since Sunday afternoon and let me tell you, it's been exactly what I needed. I have been able to reacquaint myself with many of the trails PC has to offer. Mid Mountain, Spiro, Crescent Mine Grade, Keystone, Apex, Powerline, Shadow Lake, Sweeney Switch Backs, John's Trail, Town Loop, Tour des Suds, and many more! Hitting the trails this week truly has been therapeutic and I now have a renewed appreciation for riding. I vow to make more time to cycle, despite my busy schedule. I vow to get my lazy butt up earlier and ride. I vow to charge up my HID and hit CC with KP and Scotty pants at night! I vow to get in decent shape before cross starts so I don't finish DFL in the single speed division! I vow to just get out there and ride, and enjoy every minute of it! Thanks Park City!

"It's just we're putting new coversheets on all the TPS reports before they go out now. So if you could go ahead and try to remember to do that from now on, that'd be great."
Big thumbs down to whoever it is that is taking issue with the commute. Lame.
Them is some purty strong vows there mister. Get after it.
And I vow to somehow not feel like passing out after riding 20 mins at elevation.
Sabrosa, "Milt, we're gonna need to go ahead and move you downstairs into storage B. We have some new people coming in, and we need all the space we can get. So if you could just go ahead and pack up your stuff and move it down there, that would be terrific, OK?"
Rob, we should have hit the flying dog or 24/7. It would have been much more enjoyable. My bad!
So what did this LAME coworker do to screw up your biking to work? It is funny how many people just don't get it.
I laughed at your "environmentally friendly" comment b/c I am the same way. I feel all good about myself for commuting by bike several miles instead of driving, but then end up driving ten times that for racing and good rides. So I try not to fool myself too much.
