Super Crest

Since KP is training hard to ride in Sabrosa's impending epic ride , I felt that riding the Super Crest ( I don't know if that is what the ride is officially termed) would be a great complement to his efforts. We actually tried it last week and it was awesome. For those of you who might be Super Crest virgins, I'll elaborate. The Super Crest starts out like any other wasatch crest ride, up Puke Hill. One continues on until the trail diversion at the top of Big Water in Millcreek Canyon. Instead of dropping down towards Dog Lake, you take a right on the Park City Connector trail towards Mid-Mountain. You stay on Mid-Mountain until you hit the Shadow Lake loop trail which will spit you at right where you started, with a little climbing in between! KP only has a single speed, so single speeds it was. We both are geared up with 32 x 18 gearing and we actually both made it up Puke Hill non-stop. We were stoked! Last year I made it up in a 32 x 20, so doing it in an 18 this year shows that at least I've made a little progess! This trail truly has it all. Sweet technical descents, lung searing climbs, and everything in between. I could do without the super rocky/bumpy section right after Red Pine, but all in all it is a sweet ride. Right around 28 miles round trip, with a bunch of climbing. I threw away my Garmin last year so I don't keep stats anymore. I'm fixing my road bike chain today so I should be able to get more rides in next week. Gotta git in shape for CX!!!

I like riding that trail in reverse.
