The Beach

I'll admit. While I love the idea of taking the kids to the beach, I actually dread the logistics. The unloading of everything clean, and then the reloading of everything covered in sand is enough to make me avoid it. Mike's even worse with the thought of the mess, so sadly, we do avoid it a lot. But then I feel like I just need to let go the annoyance of sand all over my car, in Alexis' hair and everywhere else it seems to get, and just take them there.

I talked myself into it a couple of times, and we had a blast.

Of course, after all of these cute pics, I did spend WAY too much time cleaning up all the sand that seemed to come home with us.

I learned a good trick this summer for dealing with sand at the beach. Use baby powder! After they are finished playing, sprinkle baby powder all over them. The powder will absorb any excess moisture and then the sand can just be wiped away with your hand. This will take care of the majority of sand.
