State Fair

L.O.V.E. it. More people watching than any other place. More food than you can even think up. And way too big to see all at once.

We've found a few favorites. The animal barn where you can watch live births. We saw 4 hour old twin cows with mama still in afterbirth labor (oh! the poor thing!), lots of cute newborn babies, and best of all, 2 pigs born while we were there! So cool. All of the animal barns are pretty awesome, but the babies are so cute.

Love the unlimited milk stand. Our kids probably had 1/2 gallon each.

Love the kiddy farm. Our kids are still young enough where this is a lot of fun. Eventually they will be way to big and way too cool, but I'll relish it while we can.

Love the donuts. These mini donuts, cooked on the spot. You could literally drink them.

And, another great sandwich - pulled bbq turkey with Minnesota's own turkey meat. Yum.

We'll avoid the rides as long as possible too (maybe, uh, forever?). We could potentially be listing ourselves as the meanest parents ever because we don't spend the gazillion extra it costs to ride the rides, but oh well. Someday our kids will get to experience a Ferris wheel, and there are cool places where they can be entertained away with rides that aren't the portable drop and move rides (that I saw way too many tv episodes on "rides gone wrong at the fair"), but for now, we just keep walking. And, for now, they are ok with that.

Gotta love the fair.

Now that's an exciting trip to the State Fair! Your kids are so cute - you have some great candid shots. We're going to test out the State Fair in UT. I haven't been in a while, hopefully it will be fun for Owen.
