Alexis was so excited for her birthday. She couldn't wait to be a whole hand and one step closer to kindergarten. We had a family party this year - her choice of an activity and dinner. She picked bowling and dinner at a local bbq restaurant. Actually, it's a bbq place that is Max's favorite restaurant, and he seemed to talk her into it being her favorite place too. Man, she loves that guy.
I'd planned to make her a bday cake, but the day of rolled around, and I was so sick, it was no longer an option. She had just as much fun heading to the store to pick out her own (cupcakes covered with sparkly snow). Big thanks to all of the sweet gifts sent from a far. She loved the surprises of packages coming in the mail just for her!
Ack! I am always amazed at how fast time goes by.
Five things I love about Alexis: her voice (especially when she sings!), her kindness (I love how she really cares about how others feel), her intelligence coupled with her driving desire to know more (more on this later, but she is an active mind that loves to be challenged), her spunk (while she can be as calm and quiet as a mouse, I love seeing her turn it on and tackle Max, try to beat him in races, or take off in the swimming pool. What a sense of energy!), and her drawings, or "notes"(ties in with the kindness above, but I love the notes she'll write and draw and leave for Mike and I in the house. Another way she just makes my day!).
Just after her birthday, she had her Christmas preschool program. It was so fun to hear her practice all of the songs. That little voice singing in the back of the car just makes my day.
