I need to write up the vocabulary that Tayler has made her own. Sure, she has a ever increasing list of words that she says right (and I can't believe how much it is growing every day), but for some reason these made up ones bring me the biggest smile. I know, as with the other two, that these words eventually disappear and are replaced by the correct word, but man, I'd love to hang on to a few.
Max = Manny
Alexis = Santa (funny enough, she started this one around Thanksgiving. We thought she was so smart to pick up on knowing Santa's name. After some time, we discovered she was actually talking about Alexis the whole time. And has stuck with it. Although, an occasional "Cece" comes out too).
Tayler = mine
Kermit = dog
Light = butt
Moon = boo
Cookie = hotcake
Any other type of baked good = cupcake
Olivia (our neighbor) = ya ya
Target = hotcake (which you'll see from above means cookie - she loves that free sugar!)
Buckle = guckle
Another funny one is hot dog. She's never said this when seeing an actual hot dog, but instead, she always says it when she sees the Pepsi logo. When we make trips to Costco, we'll stop and get a hot dog, so she associates it with the Pepsi logos Costco has for their drinks. Funny enough, whether we are walking around the grocery store, driving and she sees a Pepsi truck, she'll shout out "hot dog!" every time. So cute.
My favorite is her own version of the clean up song. Whenever she hears me sing "clean up, clean up" she starts singing "ashes, ashes" to the same tune. She loves ring around the rosie, and figured she may as well combine the two.
And, rather than list off all the words she says correctly, I'll just list my top few that I love hearing pronounced so well from such a little person: cold (or said with a bit more enthusiasm "cooooolddd!"), horse, hey! (or hi! spoken with as much excitement), bowl, bike, cow, girl, happy, nice, and the obvious favorites daddy and mommy.
Here she is headed off to the "store."
And, sporting her new haircut. I probably only cut about 20 hairs in the back, but they were long, crazy and a bit too mullet-like. I couldn't stop staring at her all day after I cut it thinking she looked so much bigger all of a sudden!
