How often do we allow the fear of what we don’t see prevent us from moving with what we can see?
Driving this morning was a tender analogy of a simple and truthful reminder: just because we can’t see what is ahead, does not mean it does not exist. Simple action: dig our heels into the ground and trust that moving forward with faith (and courage!) is enough. And while we hope for a beautiful clearing after those few steps, most often, these steps reveal just enough to keep continuing down the foggy path.
Last night through this morning, my mind battled self-doubt which spun toward anxious/suffocating-like feelings. My thoughts were directed toward the fog – things I simply cannot control or don’t see yet.
The road ahead is there. But how often do I stay where I am only hoping for the fog to clear, rather than lean into the simplicity of moving with what I can see?
What if instead of sitting in doubt, I instead look with gratitude? Gratitude for all the times I have made it through foggy paths, bringing me to who I am today. Maybe the fog is actually a gift to simplify and focus on what I can see.
Today I create simplicity.
I choose to lean into trust, faith and courage.
I choose to lead with my heart.
To the one this message is for, lean with me today. We’re in this together.
